Just trying this amazing camera today with a friend of mine …I used the Samsung pancake lens ..30mm f2.0

image

The site was about 5 minutes drive from my house … It was really chilly …about 30 degrees … We managed to get about 10 minutes of sun and the rest was just cloud and overcast. I could not even got a chance to use a reflector because there is nothing to reflect to …:)

Jay was using the Nikon d700 with sigma 35mm 1.4 while I was using my new baby … Samsung nx1 … Love the handling of this camera.

image

I used the tilt oled display a lot since I was taking shots from low angle most of the time. The feeling was just like using my Nikon SLR camera without the heavy lifting … Nice 🙂

image

The Samsung nx1 was very responsive most of the time with the quick AF. The EVF was set to auto and I was using my finger with a tilting oled screen to pin point the focus point …it was quick and pleasant to use this amazing well implemented technology.

image

Although there are a couple of times where the EVF sensor would make the oled display off as I was trying to ‘touch AF’ the screen.

image

Apparently the EVF sensor thought that my finger was my eye approaching the EVF. This brief shooting encounter with Samsung NX1 makes it a real treat experience …I just wished the sun had stayed a little longer. Jay just could not stand the chilliness of the weather ..so we had to go.

A friend of mine whom I met recently in Netherlands mentioned that she liked the previous website because it has a touching music and the selection of images that were on it ….I have been thinking about it to incorporate music into this website but I could not do it ….

so I think how about make a new slideshow with music on it and put it on YouTube …I went ahead and spent about 6 hours putting together about 85 images that resonates with me. It is hard to do this as there were many images that I have to go through and I could only use my selective memory plus trying to go one by one on each of the couple folders.

I could not help myself but chose Alexi Murdoch song called ‘Blue Mind’ …I love many of his songs but this particular song has many layers that I find it tickling my senses the most …the lyrics is simple yet deep in some sense …the music is folksy as a typical Alexi’s music that has a haunting quality and slowly creeps in to your deepest senses …it forces me to contemplate about what life is all about, it soars up my imagination to a new height, provokes my musical instinct …not many artist has this kind of grandiose ability …the song has a mistical quality for me …it reminds me eloquently and effortlessly what we are here for in this world

These people has changed how I view the world …or to put it more precise …has helped me to let go some of my false ideas that runs into my brain circuitry ….yes …these slideshow is for them …for all the people that I have worked with the past 7 years … Thank you for letting me to be part of the experience …it has brought me into tears and joy in the process of putting together this unforgettable moments … LOVE and Enjoy …:)

samsung NX300 with remote viewfinder features …a video

I have been toying with this camera for a while …about 3 months …so far I have grown to like it. Although there is one major improvement that I could see samsung could push this camera ahead of the mighty sony a6000 is the shutter lag (I hope I am using the correct photography term here). It is the speed from where I press the shutter button (+ the camera able to lock the focus point) until I press all the way to shoot the image. That for me is a bit lagging, especially compare to the sony a6000 …that feels really snappy for me.

Other than that ….I think I like the overall features of the samsung nx300 better especially at the current used market price …you could get the samsung nx300 at half the price of the sony a6000.

enjoy the video ….:)
